Kudos to Liz Cheney

This country’s justice system is so skewed that it will take an act of God to get us back on track. God allowed COVID-19 to surface during the Trump Administration to get our attention. Did we change our wicked ways? Think about it!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was repeatedly arrested and ultimately assassinated for leading nonviolent, peaceful marches for equality for all people. At that time, those in leadership cared more about preserving our democracy, not holding onto perks they enjoyed by sitting in a seat of power in Washington, DC. Today, thugs, robbers, liars, child molesters, murderers, and imbeciles can run for office and get a high-five or sabotage the election. Shame on us!! We reach out to help people all over the world and won’t help those living outdoors on our streets.

I say kudos to Liz Cheney for daring to care more about safeguarding a divided nation in danger of destruction from within, rather than opting for an easy win by yielding to the status quo. There is no job any of us have had that only requires being a United States citizen and age 35. These two qualifications for U. S. president are less than what’s required to obtain a driver’s license. At some point our lawmakers might agree that the ability to read and pass an IQ test might be important for a leader. The fervor of red versus blue die-hard fans is destroying this country. Wake up everybody!

Would anyone in their right mind hire a known sexual predator as a babysitter? How is it that singer R. Kelly got sentenced to 30 years in prison while murderer Kyle Rittenhouse walked away scot-free from a civil unrest in Kenosha with rifle in hand. He got praised by Donald Trump who incited a riot that led to the deaths of five people. What kind of justice is that?

Liz Cheney was one of only 10 House Republicans who dared to vote to impeach Trump after he incited the riot that led to the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Three of the ten plus Cheney lost their primaries and four retired, leaving only David Valadao of California and Dan Newhouse of Washington State on the ballots for November. Do we want a democracy or a dictatorship? I am not on the side of red or blue. I’m a concerned citizen.

The Bible says in Romans 12:17-19: Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Remember, Jehovah has the final say.
